Isisford
One of those places that provides an "over the ridge", raw and undiluted outback experiences. The township was settled in the shade of the Barcoo coolibahs in the mid-1800's and now displays a variety of architecture reflecting the lifestyle of an isolated community.

Emmet
Just down the road lies the township of Emmet on the railway line running from Blackall to Yaraka where it terminates. Emmet was the second water take on the point west of Blackall for steam trains and is the western gateway to the spectacular Idalia National Park where dry mulga scrub and rocky escarpments are home to the yellow footed rock wallaby.

Mt SlocombeYaraka
Yaraka is bathed in the shade of a wild mesa landscape and is a true blue outstation of the Outer Barcoo. Surrounded by magnificent rocky outcrops of the Macedon Range the area is a sight to behold at sunset when the rocks and scrub reflect the wonderful shades of the setting sun.
